A face full of make-up when you’re off to the beach or on a night out on holiday isn’t exactly ideal, and the fact is we’ve all done it! No one likes to look a mess on holiday but there is nothing worse than cakey makeup or feeling hot and sweaty when you want to be able to relax and unwind whilst looking your best.

Summer make-up and skincare needs to be sheer, simple and non-clogging, but enough to make you feel confident and pretty. For the last month I have been trying and testing high-street products to see what products you can get on a budget that are perfect for your summer, whether you’re staying at home or going away.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

Designed to help control shine and minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections. Enriched with mineral pigments, this BB cream gives your skin a great, lightweight coverage that is ideal for giving you a radiant matte finish without using foundation. It’s even got an SPF 20 filter in, perfect for protecting your skin on holiday - £7.49, 40ml

Rodial Light Brazillian Tan

I am a huge tan lover, whether it is real or fake, and this Rodial Tan is perfect for giving your skin that hint of colour. It’s not sticky or oily, and dries instantly on the skin, developing a bronzed healthy glow to the skin over four hours. Great for both your summer at home or to add to your holiday tan whilst you’re away - £17.50, 150ml

Beginning Balancing Facial Mist

Perfect for sensitive skin, the Beginning Facial Mist is designed to give your skin that ‘pick-me-up’ it needs after a long day in the sun. It hydrates the skin and with a blend of orange, geranium and mandarin, it smells gorgeous too! - £15, 100ml

Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator

By far my favourite product that I have tested! The product is available in three shades and illuminates the skin, leaving it glowing and feeling healthy. Unlike a BB cream, the product is more of a primer, but is highly pigmented so gives more colour to the skin. If you’re after slightly heavier coverage without using a foundation, I would seriously consider keeping this in your handbag - £11.99, 30ml

Bumble & Bumble Hair Un-Dressing Texture Crème

If you’re after that undone-but-done quality to your hair, then Bumble & Bumble’s range of products is definitely for you. The hair-undressing crème is perfect for that matte/textured beach finish that is so popular this summer - £21.50, 150ml

Topshop Lips in Charmed

While I am a MAC makeup junkie, but I adore Topshop’s lipstick collection. This peachy shade is perfect for summer and looks great with all skin tones. The lipstick has a velvety matte finish which smooth’s and nourishes leaving your lips feeling healthy and moisturised - £8
